I know a lot of people hate in dash GPS units, I don’t, I prefer it over my phone
The screen is bigger than my phone, I don’t have to have it mounted on the windshield 3 feet away from me, the volume is louder, etc. Downsides are it takes longer to find a business in the dash unit, or it doesn’t exist because the maps have not yet been updated.
But here is what I want, and from what I can find searching online has not been invented yet. I want to be able to find an address on google maps in my phone, press “navigate” and have the turn by turn directions appear on my in dash unit.
Below is a picture that simplifies it.
Currently it’s find the address on my phone, then manually type it in through the dash unit, would love an app that takes out the middle part of that equation

I think what youre looking for is called Mirror Link. Its my understanding that mirror link will mirror your phone display on your cars infotainment screen.

That is definitely on the right path. Someday it’ll be able to go through bluetooth instead of a cable

My car has that if I buy the GPS app it uses. Use phone app for GPS, plug phone into car, bam: nav on car screen.
Also Apple Car Play works that way.

My Ram 1500 is the same way, $150 for the Garmin updates. It’s 4 years old and several of the major roads around where I live have been updated recently and the gps gets confused as hell when trying to navigate through it. Trying to decide when I should update the maps.

Sonic. BringGo GPS. There was a free trial of the BringGo app for like 30 days and I used it, it was really cool. The app cost like $50, I just don’t use GPS enough to buy it.
A friend of mine had a CarPlay compatible head unit in his Miata for a while. I played with it with my phone and it’s FANTASTIC. I cannot recommend it enough.
